Autumn equinox—so that’s it, summer.
You’ve done a wonderful job this year.
It’s never easy to say goodbye.
Until we meet again next year,
enjoy your well-deserved rest.
I’ll miss our time together;
the warmth of beachs,
the laughter in the woods, and
the smoky taste of barbecue with cold beer!
Time for thanksgiving—
the air turns crisper,
coffee tastes richer as
the days become colder.
A fresh new school year stirs with promise,
kids are growing in body and spirit,
and family feels closer than ever.
Under the radiant blue sky,
a thousand shades of
fall colours spill across the earth,
as if to greet me,
pat my shoulder, and wisper—
“Friend, it’s beautiful, isn’t it?
Set your worries aside for now,
and enjoy your run.”
Memories rise as I run—
good or bad, they no longer matter.
Every moment, even the difficult ones,
shaped the person who I am.
With this life's secret mystery in mind,
I’m filled with nothing but gratitude.
Now I begin to see the connections,
the hidden meanings of my life, and
the dreams and hopes I pursue.
Thank God, I’m not a complete fool after all!
