October has come to the West coast city,
Crisp air from the northern mountains,
rich aroma from the trees,
serene beauty of nature are everywhere,
and yes,
Thanksgiving is here—
Wondrous delight in an abundant feast!
Oracle’s prophecy—
Lord, is this the land I was meant to live?
They shall live on the land
I gave to Jacob my servant,
the land where their ancestors lived;
they shall live on it always,
they, their children,
and their children’s children,
with David my servant
as their prince forever. (Ezekiel 37:25)
Beautiful time of the year:
glistening fall colours,
fragrant harvest,
family gathered at the table—
give thanks to the Lord.
Enjoy the festivity,
for the season won’t be long,
like our life on Earth;
everyone and everything shall pass—
cruel beauty of temporality.
Running in the autumn rain,
With every raindrop,
I feel the pulse of the living world.
And when the clouds break,
I hear the whisper—
Be still, and give thanks.
