K-pop: a Game Changer of an Entertainment Worldwide
Imagine you are listening to an idol’s new song. You discover you enjoy it and begin paying attention to the idols themselves. Now, you are an expert of K-pop. The real K-pop had begun in 1996, with a group named H.O.T and the name ‘idol’ and ‘fan club’ was made at that time. After 1996 many companies like SM, JYP, YG, and HYBE were made and many idols were debuted. K-pop has reshaped global culture by igniting worldwide interest in Korean traditions and fostering a sense of unity among international fans.
To begin with, K-pop influenced global culture by making people into one. K-pop encourages fans worldwide to communicate and collaborate each other. These days, social media has developed so fans could talk about idol’s new song or their birthday and empathize with each other. Also, fans could collaborate and donate to charities according to A+PREP daily, “The BTS fan group, known as ARMY, has donated millions of dollars to charities around the world. By this, ARMY could have pride and cheer and encourage each other. If this continues, global fans could be connected and communicate each other and become friends.
Secondly, K-pop shapes global culture by sparking worldwide interest in Korean culture. By listening to K-pop, many people got a curiosity about Korean cultures. The most important thing is food. For example, they may discover a taste for spicy foods such as Kimchi. Furthermore, they learn Korean language, too. In many schools, Korean is an afterschool learning program’s subject. AP opinion states, “More and more students in countries like the U.S, Australia, and France are signing up for Korean language classes.” However, many people have a concern about ‘what if Korean language is hard for foreigners?’ Hangeul’s design makes Korean arguably easier to learn than many non-phonetic scripts, encouraging foreigners to try. If this continues, foreigners will get fun in Korean culture and tourists in South Korea will increase, thanks to K-pop.
In conclusion, K-pop influenced global culture by drawing interest about Korean culture, and make people into one. In summary, global fans could collaborate and donate into many charities. Also, thanks to K-pop, foreigners could pay attention to Korean culture for example, fashion, beauty, food, or history. People hope K-pop to be more reached to people, and debut more idols. K-pop is a game changer and a new genre of music of the entertainment, and it still goes on.
