Do you think it’s important for foreigners living in Korea to learn to speak Korean?

I don't think it's important for foreigners living in Korea to learn to speak Korean. The reason why I think that way is that there are so many young people who can speak English so well and there are so many kind people to answer them when they ask. We, Korean are so kind in our racial basic mind. If foreigners had difficulties in living in our country, most Korean would try many ways to help them. That's why I don't think it's important for foreigners living in Korea to learn to speak Korean. In my generation, it was difficult to get answers in the street when foreigners asked anything to us, but now it was changed. The reason why they had difficulties exchanging in speaking English was that there were so few people who could speak English well, such as high educated people only. There were very few way to learn English fluently, when I was in University. I visited U.S. army officer's home once a week to learn how to speak fluently in English from his wife. It costed a lot. Now there are so many ways to practice speaking English. Therefore most Korean speak English well.

4. 가정법이라고 과거시제와 would를 생각했는데 이런 가정법의 경우 현재와 정 반대되는 경우이지. 그건 아니니까 현재형으로 바꾸어왔구나. If foreigners have difficulties in living in our country, most Koreans will try many ways to help them.

5. in the street는 될 수 없지. 길 위에 있는 거니까 반드시 on the street!

8. so few라는 말은 있을 수가 없겠구나. 너무 적은 사람이...라는 뜻으로 그렇게 썼는데 한국식이다. few에는 so가 붙을 수 없을 것 같다.
