Department of Aviation to Host Airline Career Day March 26
Mankato, Minn. – The Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Aviation, in conjunction with North Star Aviation, will host “Airline Career Day” on Monday, March 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Mankato Regional Airport’s main terminal lobby.
Recruiters and pilots from eight airlines from around the nation will attend the event to provide information and recruit Minnesota State Mankato aviation program graduates.
Regional airline recruiters from Endeavor, Skywest, Compass, Republic, Envoy, Air Wisconsin, Trans States and Mesa (representing Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and American Airlines) will meet with students and discuss career opportunities in the airline industry.
About Minnesota State Mankato’s Department of Aviation:
The Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Aviation prepares professional flight and aviation management students for careers in aviation. Successful aviation department graduates receive a bachelor of science in aviation degree after completing the four-year degree program.
Due to the quality of the program and high industry demand for pilots, the 250 professional flight students have a near 100% placement rate after completing the prescribed course and Federal Aviation Administration ratings. The professional flight program – the only four-year aviation program in the state of Minnesota – operates under Part 141 certification from the FAA, and is accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International.
This accreditation and certification allows Minnesota State Mankato graduates to be hired as airline pilots with 500 less hours of flight time than graduates from non-accredited programs. The program operates in partnership with North Star Aviation as the sole flight training provider for the Minnesota State Mankato aviation program.
