Language Is Power in Itself
I believe language has power.
Not me—
but language itself holds the ability to move, to shape, to awaken.
A single word can shift someone’s direction.
A sentence can stir a sleeping heart.
Some phrases bring back memories.
Others plant seeds for change.
This is why I believe in language.
Not just as a skill or a technique,
but as something alive—
a force that can heal, connect, and realign.
And then comes the matter of direction.
What matters is not only what we say,
but why and where our words are trying to go.
People will always waver.
But often, what we need most
is not a solution—
just a gentle hand through words,
helping us steady ourselves.
If we each cared just a little more
about one another’s lives—
if we each reached out
with one word of sincerity,
one line of compassion—
Then language would do its work.
It would become what it already is:
a quiet but undeniable power.

나는 언어에 능력이 있다고 믿는다.
내가 아니라,
언어 그 자체가 능력을 가지고 있다.
어떤 말은 사람의 방향을 바꾼다.
한 문장은 잠들어 있던 마음을 흔든다.
어떤 문장은 기억을 꺼내고,
또 어떤 문장은 변화의 씨앗이 된다.
그래서 나는 언어를 믿는다.
단순한 기술이나 수단이 아니라,
살아 있는 것.
치유하고, 연결하고, 다시 정렬할 수 있는 힘.
그리고, 방향이 중요하다.
무엇을 말하느냐보다 더 중요한 건
왜, 어디를 향해 말하고 있는가.
사람은 누구나 흔들린다.
하지만 대부분의 경우 필요한 건
거창한 해결책이 아니라—
말 한마디의 손길.
조금만 나를 잡아주는, 그 따뜻함.
모든 사람이 서로의 삶에
조금만 더 관심을 갖고,
진심 어린 말 한 줄,
관용 있는 말 한 마디를 건넬 수 있다면—
그 순간 언어는 자기 역할을 해낸다.
이미 가지고 있는 그 힘을,
조용하지만 분명한 능력으로 드러낼 것이다.
