패티 스미스와 사운드워크 컬렉티브의 전시 <끝나지 않을 대화(Correspondence)>를 보던 중,

문득 'Acid'라는 단어가 의식 위로 떠올랐다.

<차 마시는 시간의 비행>을 작업하던 시절, 나는 샘플 편집에 용이한 'ACID Pro'라는 프로그램을 애용했다.

그곳에서 시간의 파편들을 이어 붙이며 새로운 리듬을 만들어내던 기억.

하지만 Acid 하면 역시 '애시드 재즈'의 그 Acid가 먼저다.

세기말의 지나치게 뜨거운 청춘들과 밤새도록 열기를 뿜어내던 클럽과 자욱한 연기, 그리고 블레이드 러너 속 같이 슬프고 황폐한 네온사인의 거리들...

그 모든 것들이 하나의 풍경으로 겹쳐진다.

그렇게 과거로부터 지금까지 관통해 온 나의 기억들, "Memories".

그 기억들을 노래하는 책, "A Song Book".

이렇게 앨범의 제목이 탄생했다.

24시간 부려먹는 AI 비서와 함께.. 때로는 좋은 말도 건넨다.
