He banished these lingering doubts from his head, got out of his car, and headed into the office. Violet's statement, as he already knew, had not changed a bit. It was as if she repeated what she already memorized. Not only had she doubled down on her lies, she did so while subtly chiding Alexander, in her own way, for not seeing through them.
Alexander gave her a slight hint that he knew of those criminals, to test her - to get her to admit what she knew. But her answer never changed: she knew none of them. No matter how varied the clues given to Violet, her answers were the same, and her eyes which stared at Alexander's face looked quite confident. To see that face made his fury surge. He wanted to see her doom brought about by any means possible. He wanted to erase her shamelessness, confidence, and that shade of a smile-which he oddly could see hiding from behind her face.
After this meaningless interview, he let Violet go. She unfolded her arms and legs, and left the room without any comment. He remained there. Alexander knew everything would all soon be revealed by the last suspect, so long as he didn't try to protect Violet. Perhaps he could even offer the suspect something that would surpass the value of Violet to him?
Even if he is not willing to talk, maybe I ought to notify him how much protecting Violet might cost him, Alexander reflected.
Alexander decided it would be prudent to call him. But Alexander’s phone rang as soon as the thought entered his mind. What the hell, thought Alexander, as he answered on the second ring. Who could? And he saw the familiar, yet eerily odd, number float across the screen.
"How have you been?"
The caller asked with a hoarse voice, cutting through Alexander’s thoughts like a knife through butter. It was a sort of voice that created the feeling of trust, but to Alexander, it produced a chill down his spine.
"Did you hear that?"
the voice asked.
"What?"
he asked back in an absent tone.
"The whore died. The one you called Sarah. Her soul is searching for the void, but her body is cold. Lifeless. Your revenge has been delivered."

"She killed herself in her cell. With that, she's little but a memory. That cannot be will though. It said, ‘'I would rather die if I cannot kill anymore.' What a psycho!"
he burst laughing.
