Cold Dewdrops Formed Throughout theNight

From next morning, they buckled down to investigate this case. Alexander scrutinized CCTV surrounding Violet’s whereabouts while Cynthia interviewed Ed for the second time. Alexander tried to find the place in the video, but it was close to impossible. There were no particular structures that seemed to match the description.

He also searched CCTV in the alley where Violet was kidnapped, but it was too desolate and old to find even one CCTV camera. The park where the criminals threw Violet out, and, the nearby inn, where Violet stayed the day she called Alexander, yielded no decent CCTV evidence because of the delayed reports, and, as too many days passed, recorded footage got deleted automatically.

Cynthia told Alexander about the interview with Ed, and it was as he expected. He denied all suspicions and complained of an injustice. He watched the video and said he recognized nothing at all, not even the voices. He kept insisting that he was not involved in any of this, and he seemed to be telling the truth. But there was also no evidence for his innocence.

Eventually, they'd have to look for the criminals in the video. They had nothing on them. Because Violet refused to visit a doctor that day, and took several showers over the course of a few days, the possibility they could find DNA in her body was zero.

“Let’s investigate the communication logs for both of them,”

Cynthia suggested.

A few days later, Alexander got the communication logs for a year for both Violet and Ed's conversations. Now they had to analyze which numbers regularly contacted Violet or Ed. Dozens of numbers were regular contacts. They began to work on finding their personal data, got their pictures from the database, and tried to compare these to the criminals whom they couldn't distinguish due to their face masks. It seemed impossible to find them simply by looking at pictures.
