He went to the address he’d been directed to. It was a huge building. Looking outside, it was a general old structure typical of any city center. He checked the floor again. 27th floor, Dante’s. Jacqueline said she reserved a meal for him. She was uncommonly thoughtful. By her attitude-even though they communicated only through an app-he regarded Jacqueline as somebody he was already deeply connected with. He wanted to give her a good impression.
He checked his appearance once more in the shop window by the entrance. Not bad, he thought. He groomed his hair neatly, was clean-shaven, and wore a well-ironed suit. Moreover, he was trying to smile. He approached the entrance, intending to enter without any fuss, until somebody blocked his way.
It was a guard. He wore a kind grin on his face, but the arm which was barring Alexander’s path was pretty firm.

“What? What token?”

the guard said this somewhat arrogantly.
Alexander looked around, observing the people coming in. They had something aqua-marine blue-colored on their chest. Some had it on their fingers, like a ring, and others like a bracelet on the wrist.
“I’m here as an invited guest. How do expect a guest to have a membership ID?"
He felt a slight sense of indignation. What a ridiculous system this was!
“Only members of Arsh can invite and be invited. I’m afraid the person who invited you must know that, or, I’m so sorry, there must be a some mistake, sir.”
Alexander was dumbfounded.
