나를 상하게 하여도 내게 감각이 없도다

개역개정 잠언 23장
29. 재앙이 뉘게 있느뇨 근심이 뉘게 있느뇨 분쟁이 뉘게 있느뇨 원망이 뉘게 있느뇨 까닭 없는 상처가 뉘게 있느뇨 붉은 눈이 뉘게 있느뇨
¶Who has woe? Who has sorrow?
Who has contentions? Who has complaining?
Who has wounds without cause?
Who has red eyes?
30. 술에 잠긴 자에게 있고 혼합한 술을 구하러 다니는 자에게 있느니라
Those who linger long over wine,
Those who go to taste mixed wine.
31. 포도주는 붉고 잔에서 번쩍이며 순하게 내려가나니 너는 그것을 보지도 말지어다
Do not look at wine when it is red,
When it sparkles in the cup,
When it goes down smoothly;
32. 그것이 마침내 뱀 같이 물 것이요 독사 같이 쏠 것이며
In the end it bites like a snake
And stings like a viper.
33. 또 네 눈에는 괴이한 것이 보일 것이요 네 마음은 구부러진 말을 할 것이며
Your eyes will see strange things
And your mind will say perverse things.
34. 너는 바다 가운데에 누운 자 같을 것이요 돛대 위에 누운 자 같을 것이며
And you will be like one who lies down in the middle of the sea,
Or like one who lies down on the top of a mast.
35. 네가 스스로 말하기를 사람이 나를 때려도 나는 아프지 아니하고 나를 상하게 하여도 내게 감각이 없도다 내가 언제나 깰까 다시 술을 찾겠다 하리라
“They struck me, but I did not become ill;
They beat me, but I did not know it.
When will I awake?
I will seek another drink.”
