Who is the Holy Spirit?
John 14:15-21
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”
Who is the Holy Spirit? The world neither sees Him nor knows Him, but I know Him as He lives with me. It could sound like a nonsense, but it's true. Without it, I do not know God and Jesus, including the Holy Spirit Himself, and as you know, they are so-called trinity. Actually, I had no idea about them, until the day when I experienced meeting Jesus, by seeing all my sins through Holy Spirit at the age of 21.
Luckily and blissfully, I noticed all three presence. The Heavenly Father, God, and the Savior Jesus, and the presence of the Holy Spirit, at the same time. It was not from any knowledge through learning, rather through the spiritual experience, which I believe that it was one of the miraculous signs that have happened until now. The reason I could know for sure about the presence of them is through the Holy Spirit, who teaches me and counsels me and leads me to the life according to His will. That is, a good life as a good Christian, so that I could be the salt and the light in the world, and I know many are living as He intended them to live by obedience and faith.
How powerfully and wonderfully I could live my life with this advocate(supporters) to me, because He plays the role of making my life more challenging and meaningful, not to mention to say that it is peaceful and comfortable as well. My life could definitely be boring and meaningless, without it. That is the reason I am always for Him and try to follow Him, though it commands me to do something hard and challenging beyond my understanding and abilities. On top of that, thanks to Him, I can differentiate which is true or false, and I could face God at every moment, which is a miracle itself.
As time is going on, I mean, the older I am getting, the more I want to know Him and the closer I want to be with Him, my Father God. He is the one who sent me the Holy Spirit, so I can't thank enough for Him to be my only helper and my only comforter until now. Because of Him, I can see tomorrow. Many thanks to YOU, Father!
