The percentage of Gen Z (ages 14–29) with a negative view of AI is increasing.
According to a survey, the percentage of those with a positive view of AI dropped from 27% last year to 18% this year.
The primary reason for negative responses is that AI is replacing an increasing number of jobs. Declines in creativity and critical thinking skills were also mentioned.
Reasons for a positive view of AI include increased work efficiency and the ability to search for information and advice.
According to the survey, more than half of Gen Z use AI tools daily or weekly.
Despite their mixed feelings, A.I. fluency will become an important competency required for Gen Z in the future.
