윤대통령 김수경 대변인 ‘술자리’에 ‘표현 과하다’로 언론자유 침해   

  

윤석열 대통령의 김수경 대변인이 기자들에게 “술자리라는 표현은 과도하다”고 앞서 언론 보도에 대해 ‘표현 과도’를 통해 ‘저녁자리의 오보’라고 비난해 언론자유의 핵심인 표현에 대해 판단권을 침해했다.

김 대변인은 "술자리라는 거라기보다는 저녁식사 자리"라며 "이미 보도된 것보다도 훨씬 늦은 시간에 일을 마쳤기 때문에, 식사들을 다들 못 하셔서 저녁 식사를 가진 것으로 알고 있다"고 말해 언론 보도로 알려진 대통령의 순방 중 사건에 ‘알고 있다’는 간접 확인을 앞세워 취재 보도물의 ‘직접 확인’을 ‘과도하다’고 침해했다.

김 대변인은 18일 대통령실에서 기자들이 '윤석열 대통령이 지난 11월 24일 프랑스 파리의 한 한식당에서 재벌 총수 5명과 술자리를 연 일에 대해서 사실관계와 술자리 취지 설명해 달라' 질문에 “저녁 식사를 가진 것으로 알고 있다”며 "그것을 술자리라고 표현하는 것은 좀 과도한 표현이라고 생각이 든다"고 말해, 대변인의 ‘판단’을 기자의 취재 보도물 보다 상위 가치로 발표하고 취재 결과를 비난했다.

‘한겨레21’은 지난 15일 사건 최초 보도에서 윤 대통령과 재벌 회장들이 소주와 맥주 곁들인 저녁 식사 시작을 ‘오후 8시경’으로 취재 결과로 명확히 밝혔다. 

‘오마이뉴스’는 윤 대통령과 재벌 총수들이 파리의 한식당으로 이동하기 전 주프랑스 한국대사관이 브롱니아르 궁에서 연 국경일 리셉션에 참석했다고 18일 밝혔다.

기자 출신인 대통령의 김 대변인은 애초 보도 이후 이에 대한 사실 관계 확인을 추가하지 않고, ‘저녁식사 가진 것을 알고 있다’고 간접 확인 우위 입장에서 기자의 직접 취재 보도를 ‘표현 과하다’로 비난해 결과적으로 언론 자유 침해에 해당된다. 

김 대변인은 이날 기자들에게 대통령의 공식 순방 일정에서 만찬 일정이 사전 준비된 것인지 여부와 준비된 식단과 실제 주문이 어떤 과정에서 변경된 것인지 등을 추가 설명하지 않고 확인 요청을 ‘술자리 보도는 저녁자리 오보’라고 일방 브리핑을 보였다.

대통령 일정에서 리셉션은 공식적으로 만찬을 의미하며 이날 파리의 국경일 리셉션은 저녁 시간에 브롱니아르궁으로 공식 일정표에 사전 공지됐고, 재벌 회장들이 공식 참석자이고 공식 건배에 이어 식음료가 제공된 상태여서 윤 대통령의 저녁 식사 공식일정으로 표기됐다.

Spokesperson Kim told reporters on this day that the request for confirmation was 'misreporting of a drinking party' without further explaining whether the dinner schedule on the President's official tour schedule was prepared in advance and how the prepared menu and actual orders were changed.
