미 국방부 우크라이나지원 휴대미사일 드론 투시경 4만여개 ‘실종’     

미 의회에 제출된 우크라이나 무기지원 관리 조사의 국방부 보고서가 약 4만개의 무기에 대해 밀매 가능성을 포함했다.

미국이 우크라이나에 보낸 1억 달러 이상의 어깨 발사 미사일, 가미가제 드론 및 야간 투시경 등이 미국 관리들에 의해 제대로 추적되지 않았다고 미 국방부의 새로운 보고서가 결론지었다고 보고서를 입수한 뉴욕타임스가 12일 보도했다.

국방부의 조사 보고서는 우크라이나 전쟁 발발에서 2년 동안 우크라이나에 급히 투입된 미국 군사력의 가장 민감한 도구들을 설명하는 첫 단면이다.

보고서는 우크라이나에 제공된 3만9139개의 고위험 물자에 대해 정확히 몇 개가 '연체(기록 실종)'로 간주됐는지 자세히 설명하지 않았으나 지원으로 보내진 총 6.9억 달러 상당의 무기 중 잠재적 손실액을 약 1억1만달러로 추산했다.

가장 최근 자료인 지난 10월까지 미국은 우크라이나에 재블린 대전차 미사일, 스팅어 지대공 미사일, 가미카제 스위치블레이드 드론 약 430기, 중거리 공대공 미사일 23기, 야간 투시경 등 제공하고 미사일 발사 후 비축용으로 재블린과 스팅어의 발사 부품까지 제공했다.

보고서는 지난해 10월 현재 제공된 무기와 장비의 60%가 "기록 부실 연체" 상태로 무기와 장비를 추적하기 위해 고안된 데이터베이스에 목록화되지 않았고, 미군이나 연합군의 비축품에서 넘겨진 후 추가 기록이 빠졌음을 확인했다.
