바이든 ‘통합우선’에 문대통령 ‘자유 평화’ 대치

트럼프주의 탈출을 시작한 미 바이든 대통령이 “통합없이 평화없다”고 밝혔고, 문재인 대통령은 축사로 ‘자유’와 ‘평화 번영’을 제시했다.

문 대통령의 트위터 축하 글은 “한국은 자유를 향한 미국의 길을 항상 신뢰하며 굳건한 동맹으로서 한반도와 역내 평화와 번영을 위해 함께할 것”이라며 바이든 취임사가 쓰지 않은 ‘자유주의’를 앞세워 ‘평화 번영’을 한미동맹의 기조로 밝혔다.

바이든 대통령은 취임 직후 행정명령으로 트럼프체제에서 폐기한 ‘보건안보 체제’를 복원했고, 소외된 공동체에 관한 이슬람7국 비자제한과 멕시코 장벽 철폐 행정명령과, 세 번째로 30일 이내에 파리 기후변화 협약복귀 WHO복귀 행정명령에 서명했다.

문 대통령은 이날 트위터 축하에서 “한국은 자유를 향한 미국의 길을 항상 신뢰하며 굳건한 동맹으로서 한반도와 역내 평화와 번영을 위해 함께할 것”이라며 “보건, 안보, 경제, 기후변화 같은 글로벌 현안의 공조를 통해 한미동맹이 더욱 강화되리라 믿는다”고 밝히고, 바이든 행정부 슬로건인 ‘더 위대한 재건(Build Back Better)을 통해 한미동맹의 중요성도 앞세웠다.

문 대통령은 이어 취임 축전에서 "바이든 대통령이 줄곧 강조한 화합과 재건의 메시지가 미국민들에게 큰 울림이 되고 있다"며 "준비된 대통령으로서 미국의 통합과 번영을 이뤄낼 것"이라고 밝혔다.
