미국이 첨단 반도체 칩 제조 장비 수출국인 네덜란드와 일본에 대해 중국 수출 제한에 합의한 것으로 블룸버그가 28일 보도했다.

미국과 장비 수출 2개국간의 회담에 대한 보고서는 미국이 지난해 10월 채택한 일부 수출 통제 정책을 네덜란드의 ASML Holding NV와 일본의 Nikon Corp와 Tokyo Electron Ltd이 포함되며 “두 동맹국에 기반을 둔 회사로 확대 할 것”으로 밝혔다.

3국 관료들의 회담은 제이크 설리반 미 안보보좌관이 주도하에 “광범위한 문제를 논의”하였고, 존 커비 백악관 국가안보 대변인은 회담에 앞서 "우리 세 사람 모두에게 중요한" 문제에 대해 이야기하고 있다며 "그리고 확실히 신흥 기술의 안전과 보안이 그 의제가 될 것"이라고 기자들에게 말했다.

회담에 익숙한 소식통은 블룸버그에 “반도체 제조 장비의 중국 수출을 제한하는 것이 주제 중 하나”라고 확인했다.

네덜란드와 일본이 중국에 대해 더 엄격한 수출 통제를 부과하도록 하는 것은 조 바이든 대통령 행정부의 주요 외교적 승리가 될 것으로 블룸버그와 로이터가 밝혔다.

삼성 이재용 부회장은 지난해 6월 네덜란드 ASML Holding NV를 찾아가 대만 TMSC와의 기존 거래를 삼성으로 전환하려 시도했으나 실패했다.

지난해 5월 한미정상회담에서 한국과 '글로벌 공급망 확보' 공동성명에 이어 일본에서 미일정상회담은 '첨단 반도체 동맹 체제'를 합의했다.
