Synopsis 시놉시스
여행작가를 꿈꾸던 지영은 현실과 타협하면서 공무원으로 일한다. 그녀는 지루한 일상을 살아가고 있다. 그러던 어느 날 입금하러 운행에 가는 길에 소매치기를 당하고, 은행에서 청원경찰로 일하는 혁진에게 도움을 받는다. 그날 이후, 그들은 주변의 카페와 식당, 서점에서 우연히 만난다. 지영과 혁진은 우연히 자주 마주치며 서로에게 묘한 감정을 느낀다. 그러던 중 지영은 혁진에게 찾아온 옛 애인을 보고 질투심을 느끼며 자신이 혁진을 사랑한다는 사실을 깨닫는다. 점차로 지영은 자신이 꿈꿔 왔던 여행 작가가 되기로 결심하고 혁진에게 사랑을 고백한다.
Ji-young, who dreamed of becoming a travel writer, works as a civil servant in the office while compromising with reality. She lives a boring everyday life. Then one day, she gets pickpocketed on her way to deposit money in the bank, and gets help from Hyuk-jin, who works as a petition police officer at the bank. After that day, they come across at cafes, restaurants, and bookstores around them. Ji-young and Hyuk-jin often encounter each other, and they feel strange feelings. Meanwhile, Ji-young sees the ex-lover who came to Hyuk-jin and becomes jealous and realizes that she loves Hyuk-jin. Ji-young gradually decides to become a travel writer in search of her true dream and confesses love to Hyuk-jin.

이 작품은 청춘의 꿈과 사랑에 관한 이야기로 로맨틱 뮤지컬영화다. 청춘들에게 사랑과 미래에 대해 묻는다. 대다수 청년들이 취업난과 학자금 대출의 부담에서 자유롭지 않다. 이들에게 '청춘'은 희망이 아니라 어떻게든 제 한 몸 살 길을 찾아내는 것에 급급한 슬픈 현실이다. 그럼에도 자신의 가슴속에 품고 있는 꿈을 잃지 않고 살아간다. <바다가 고래를 만났을 때>는 청춘들의 자화상인 꿈과 사랑에 대한 이야기다.
It is a romantic musical film about the dreams and love of youth. Most young people are not free from employment difficulties and the burden of student loans. For them, youth is not a hope, but a sad reality in which they are desperate to find a way to live. Nevertheless, young people live without losing his dream in his heart. This film is a story about dreams and love, a self-portrait of young people.

단편 <나도 초콜릿이 먹고 싶다>로 제20회 서울독립영화제 대상을 받았으며 다수의 단편영화와 다큐멘터리를 만들었고 다양한 영화제에서 수상을 했다. 음악영화와 뮤지컬영화 제작을 연구하고 있으며 <바다가 고래를 만났을 때>는 그의 두 번째 뮤지컬영화다.
Min Kyung won got best film award at 20th Seoul Independent Film Festival with short film . He made diverse short films and documentaries and has won several awards with his films. He is focused on making musical films. is his second musical film.
