한국에 오신 것을 환영합니다. 반올림에서 활동하는 권영은입니다. 인도네시아 보고르에서 만난 분도 계시고, 처음 뵙는 분도 있네요. 지난번 인도네이사 보고르에서는 전자산업이 있는 곳(나라)라면, 직업병 피해자가 있으니 그간 반올림이 삼성 등과의 직업병 인정투쟁을 통해 알게 된 반도체 산업의 위험성과 또 위험을 외주화 하는 기업에 맞서 기업과 국가의 책임을 묻고, 연대해 나가는 내용이었습니다.
Welcome to Korea. Some of you met us in Bogor, Indonesia, and some of you are meeting us for the first time. Last time in Bogor, Indonesia, we shared what we learned about the dangers of the semiconductor industry through our struggle for occupational disease recognition with Samsung and other companies, since wherever there is an electronics industry (or country), there are victims of occupational diseases. We also proposed solidarity and collaboration in calling for the responsibility of companies and states against companies that outsource risks,

반올림은 오늘을 시작으로 31일, 피해자 조직 운동, 전자산업 화학물질, 여성건강권 문제 각기 분야에서 발표하게 됩니다. 여러분들과 생각과 경험을 나누는 시간이 될 것입니다.
We will be presenting today and on the 31st during the sessions about victims' organizing, chemicals in electronics, and women's health rights. It will be an opportunity to share our thoughts and experiences with you.
연대를 구축할 뿐만 아니라 우리가 직면한 문제에 맞서기 위해 전략을 세우고, 과제를 공유하는 플랫폼을 다져나갈 필요가 있다는 콘퍼런스의 배경에 반올림은 매우 동의하고 환영합니다. 각기 발표마다 우리의 경험을 공유하는데 그치지 않고, 네트워크에서 무엇을 함께하고 싶은지 제안하고 할 수 있을지를 고민하는 시간이 되길 바랍니다. 이를 잘 담고 또 알려지길 바라는 바람에서 다큐멘터리 작가와 함께했습니다. 기록에 염려되는 부분이 있다면 알려주시기 바랍니다.
We very much agree with and welcome the idea behind the conference that we need to build solidarity and strategize to confront the issues we face, and create a platform to share our challenges. In each presentation, we will not only share our experiences, but also suggest what we can do together as a network. We have a documentary filmmaker with us to capture this effort and hopefully make it better known to the public. Please let us know if you have any concerns about being recorded.
반올림의 최근의 상황을 간단히 소개하고자 합니다.
I'd like to briefly introduce the recent activities of SHARPS.
반올림은 2007년 삼성반도체 백혈병 피해자로 시작된 피해자 조직의 양상과 대응방식의 변화를 겪고 있는 중입니다. 반올림 활동 경험이 축적되고, 반올림 활동이 알려진 덕분인지 피해자들의 제보 하나에도 맥락이 꿰어지게 됩니다. 반도체를 만드는 앰코 노동조합 조합원들의 이야기를 들어보면 여성 노동자들의 건강권 문제와 노동조합 활동의 의미를 살피게 됩니다. 노동안전보건 이슈와 피해에만 그치지 않고, 삶과 이야기에도 귀 기울이게 됩니다.
SHARPS, which started in 2007 as an organization of leukemia victims from Samsung Semiconductor, is undergoing a transformation in the way it organizes and responds to victims. As we have accumulated experience and become known for our work, even a single report from a victim is put into context. We heard from Amkor union members who make semiconductors, and learned about the health rights of women workers and what it means to be a unionized worker. We don't just focus on occupational health issues and harms, we also listen to lives and stories.
최근 2007년 유미 씨가 일하던 당시 현장감독자의 제보를 통해서는 위험과 직업병의 거대한 지도가 그려지기도 합니다. Kmtech 이라는 삼성 휴대폰을 만들던 대학생 실습생이 백혈병에 걸린 일은 삼성 1차 하청 노동자들의 건강권 문제를 살피게 되고, 나아가 해외 삼성 휴대폰 사업장의 노동자들의 건강권 문제까지 연결 지어 고민하게 합니다.
Recently, a report from a supervisor at Ms. Hwang Yumi's workplace from 2007 led to the comprehensive mapping of hazards and occupational diseases. The leukemia of a college student trainee at KM Tech, a company that made Samsung phones, drew attention to the health rights of Samsung's first-tier subcontractors. It also led us to think about the health rights of workers at Samsung's overseas phone plants.
반올림은 노동자들의 산재인정투쟁으로 활동을 시작했는데, 이제 자녀의 건강권 문제도 제기하고 있는 중입니다. 여성건강권문제 발표가 있는 금요일에는 삼성 반도체 남성 노동자의 자녀가 산업재해인지 따리는 질병판정위원회가 열리는 날입니다. 얼마 전 여성노동자의 자녀가 산재로 인정받은 전향적인 소식이 있었는데 이어 이제 남성 노동자의 자녀에 대한 직업병 인정을 다루게 되었습니다.
SHARPS initially began our work through the workers' compensation struggle, but now we are now also raising the issue of children's health rights. On Friday, the same day as our presentation on women's health rights, a government committee will determine whether the health issues of children of male workers at Samsung Semiconductor will be considered an occupational disease. The children of female workers were recently recognized as occupational disease, and now the committee will be dealing with the recognition of occupational diseases for the children of male workers.

반올림은 오늘 기업과인권실사법을 소개해준 KTNC WATCH 와 동남아에 진출한 한국기업에 대한 감시와 대응에 대해 고민을 해나갈 예정이고, 작년 한국노동안전보건연구소와 함께 삼성의 노동실태에 대해 조사하고 나온 문제와 과제를 하나씩 해결해나가고자 합니다. 그 방법을 앞으로의 세션에서 같이 고민하고 연대의 방법을 마련해나가면 좋겠습니다. 감사합니다.
SHARPS will continue to discuss how to monitor and respond to abuses by Korean companies in Southeast Asia with KTNC WATCH, who introduced us to the Corporate Human Rights Due Diligence Act. We would like to address the problems and issues that emerged from the investigation into Samsung's labor conditions with the KLISH last year. In the upcoming session, I hope that we can strategize together on these issues and come up with ways to work together in solidarity.
