안녕하세요. 추운 기운이 거의 사라지고 봄이 찾아온 듯한 날씨입니다. 날씨는 참 좋았지만 기분이 좋지만은 않은 하루였습니다. 저는 요새 발전하지 못하고 침전하는 느낌을 종종 받곤 하는데요. 매너리즘은 아니지만 언제부턴가 일이 돈을 벌기 위한 수단에 그치는 것 같습니다. 돈을 버는것이 1차적인 목표인것은 당연하지만, 뒤쳐지는 기분에서 오는 자괴감은 어쩔 수 없더군요. 그럴 때 마다 찾는 노래들이 있습니다. 기분을 풀어주고 마음을 다잡게 해주며, 움직이게 해주는 저 만의 노래 세트가 있습니다. 오늘은 그 중 폴 아웃 보이 라는 밴드의 노래를 소개하고자 합니다.
Fall Out Boy 는 2001년에 결성된 펑크 록 밴드 입니다. 주로 펑크 락과 얼터너티브 락 음악을 주로 하는데요. 초기에는 Greenday 와 마찬가지로 펑크 락을 배척하는 일부 락 마니아층에게 욕을 먹기도 했습니다. 저는 개인적으로 듣기 편한 사운드를 좋아하기 때문에 상당히 좋아하며, 여전히 이렇게 오늘처럼 듣곤 합니다.
힙합과 락을 저항의 상징으로 보기 때문에 왠지 어른들 기준에서 '나쁜 노래'를 할 것이라는 생각을 흔히들 하시지만, 이렇게 은유를 통한 자극으로 마음을 다잡게도 해준답니다.
