이번에 첫 소설을 쓰면서 가장 많이 고쳐 쓴 부분은 인물, 사건, 배경 중에 인물이었다. 소설은 시나리오와 달리 글로 자세히 인물에 대해 써내야 한다. 어떤 언행을 하는지, 어떤 역사를 가진 사람인지, 그런 일을 하는 진짜 속내가 뭔지 글로 적절히 표현해야 독자의 공감과 몰입을 자아낸다는 것. 그래야 배경, 사건, 인물, #삼박자 가 맞아떨어진다.
Among the three basic elements of storytelling in novel writing (aka, Characters, Incident, and Background) what I worked on most while writing my first novel was Character. Unlike screenwriting, you should describe the characters in detail. Their history, behaviors, and their innermost thoughts and feelings. This helps the reader to connect and empathize with the characters. Only then the three #elements work in harmony.
