작가소개
- 대학시절 그래피티 활동을 하며 스트리트 아트에 많은 영향을 받았고, 호주, 캐나다, 유럽, 동남아 등을 여행했으며, 원주민 미술에 영향을 받았다. 기존의 만화 캐릭터를 작가의 감정을 통해 새로운 이미지로 보여주는 감각적인 작업을 하며, 로보트 태권브이 작품과, 해피하트 시리즈로 많이 알려져 있다. 국내외에서 평면작업, 콜라보레이션, 스트리트 아트, 전시기획 등 다양하게 대중과 소통을 진행하고 있다.
삼성 "갤럭시 노트"의 TV광고에 출연하고, 인기 가수 조권, 아이돌 그룹 VIXX, 한국도자기 그리고 패션 브랜드 페르쉐 등 기업들과 다양한 협업을 하는 등 젊은 아티스트의 대표주자로 활발히 활동하고 있다.
Charles Jang is the one of the most well-known pop artist in Korea. He began his career in Korea as a graffiti artist while he was in college. He inspired by many street and native arts through visiting different regions such as Australia, Canada, Europe and Asia. As the best pop artist in Korea, he currently works on creating new imagery of sensational art through his emotions by using existing cartoon characters.
