변화를 예측하는 능력이 필요하다

어젯밤 비가 많이 왔다.
매일 점심시간에
걷기 묵상을 한다.
어제 비로 길은 여전히 눅눅한데
햇살은 따갑다.
가던 길에 지렁이 한 마리가 말라 있다.
비가 오니 밖으로 나왔다가
돌아가는 시간을 계산을 잘못했나 보다.
' 이 비는 얼마나 오래 올까?'
' 나는 집에서 얼마나 떨어져 나왔나?'
정확하게 알 수는 없어도
주변의 환경을 분석해 보면
날씨의 변화를 어느 정도 예측하고
그에 맞게 목표를 설정하고
미리미리 준비하고 계획할 수 있는 능력이
우리에게 필요한 것 같다.
이것은 비단 리더나 운영자에게만 필요한 것이 아니다.
우리 모두가 각자의 삶을 설계하고 실행할 때 필요한 능력인 것 같다.
내가 비즈니스 인사이트를 얻는 방법 중 하나는 독서다.
그런데 관련된 서적은 홍수처럼 흘러넘친다.
어떤 책을 읽어야 할지, 그리고 그 책의 진가를 제대로 알려면 어떻게 해야 할지를 배울 수 있는 소중한 기회가 있다.
비즈니스 관련 많은 책 중에 핵심이 되는 책을 선정하고,
(시간이 없으니 책을 선정하는 것은 엄청 중요하다. 다른 책 보다 우선해서 집중해서 읽을 책을 선별하는 것도 귀한 팁이다.)
그 책을 읽고 나서 나의 생각을 나누고, (내 짧은 의견을 피력하는 것도 무척 중요하다. 강의만 듣고는 내 사고가 정립되지 않는다. 맞건 틀리건 상관없이 내 생각은 분명히 정리해야 한다.)
그런 후에 오랜 경영의 노하우를 가진 블레싱 컨설팅 경대표님의 짧은 강의를 듣는다.
경영자 생활을 오래 하면서 성과를 낸 사람들은 경험에서 우러나는 설루션이 있고, 내가 생각하는 기발한 방법을 이미 시행해 본 경험도 가지고 계신다. 내가 생각한 것을 대표님과 함께 나누면서 내 생각을 다시 정립할 수 있는 시간을 가진다.
이런 훈련은 하루아침에 어떤 놀라운 성과를 가져오지 않을 수도 있고,
그저 책을 읽어 지식을 욱여넣는 것에 비해 어렵다고 느껴질 수도 있으나,
머리에서 스팀 나는 그 고뇌의 시간을 거칠 수록 생각의 안개가 걷히고 길이 점점 드러난다.
이번 책은 내가 부족한 '논리'를 키우는 책이다.
실전 편에 들어가니 다소 어렵다. 읽기도 버겁고, 적용은 더 버겁다.
그래도 이 과정이 없이는 논리는 결코 키워지지 않는 것을 안다.
대표님께 전화해서 책이 어렵다고 징징거렸다. 대표님께서는 '이런 책 중에 가장 쉬운 책입니다~' 하신다.
가장 쉬운 책도 내게 버거운 것을 보면 논리력을 더 갖추어야 한다는 반증이다.
나는 이 책을 읽으면서 그것에 두세 걸음 다가갈 수 있을 것 같다.
2023년 8월 26일 토요일 그러니까 내일 저녁 8시 나는 또 성장할 것이다.
It rained a lot last night.
I take a walk in meditation every lunchtime.
The road is still damp from yesterday's rain, but the sun is shining brightly.
I see a dried-up worm on the way.
I must have miscalculated the time to return home because I went out when it was raining.
"How long will this rain last?"
"How far am I from home?"
Even if I can't know for sure, I think it's important to be able to analyze the surrounding environment, predict weather changes, set goals accordingly, and prepare and plan ahead of time.
This is not only necessary for leaders or operators, but also for all of us who need to design and implement our own lives.
One of the ways I get business insights is through reading.
However, there are so many related books that it can be overwhelming.
There is a valuable opportunity to learn which books to read and how to get the most out of them.
I select the core books from many business-related books,
and after reading the book, I share my thoughts and express my short opinion. (It is important to clarify my thoughts, whether right or wrong.)
Then, I listen to a short lecture by Kyung, CEO of Blessing Consulting, who has a wealth of management know-how.
Those who have achieved results in management have solutions that come from experience, and they have already implemented the ingenious methods I think of. I have time to re-establish my thoughts by sharing what I think with the CEO.
This training may not bring any remarkable results overnight,
and it may seem more difficult than just reading books and cramming information,
but the more I go through the agony of my head steaming, the more the fog of thought clears and the path gradually becomes clear.
This book is a book that helps me develop my "logic, " which I lack.
It's a bit difficult to get into the practical part. It's hard to read, and it's even harder to apply.
Still, I know that without this process, logic will never grow.
I called the CEO and complained that the book was difficult. The CEO said, "This is the easiest book in this series."
The fact that even the easiest book is difficult for me is proof that I need to improve my logic skills.
I think I can take a few steps closer to that goal by reading this book.
