In 1936, MoMA organized modern movements into a lineage, proving that structure reveals flow.

1. The Problem Was Not Data

Before 9/11, intelligence agencies already possessed vast amounts of intelligence data.
Signals existed. Fragments were visible.
The failure was not a lack of information.
It was a failure of integration.

→ The data was there. The structure was not.

In the 1920s–30s, the Soviet Union showed that structure turns numbers into understanding.

2. Software as Diagram

Palantir did not gather more data.
It connected what already existed.
Nodes. Links. Relations.
A system that allowed fragments to be read together.

→ Software became a diagram.

Systems become meaningful when objectives and relationships are designed before data.

3. Philosophy Inside the Machine

Alex Karp studied philosophy.
Peter Thiel studied philosophy as well.

They argue:

"We need philosophers more than engineers."

Integration is not a technical problem.

It is a problem of designing perspective.

→ Code follows thought.

Integration turns fragmented operations into a system.

4. From Art to Industry

Soviet designers reorganized vision to make information legible.
Alfred H. Barr Jr. structured modern art into a visible lineage.

Palantir Technologies carried the same question into industry.

→ Different centuries.
→ Different domains.
→ The same problem.

1. 문제는 데이터가 아니었다

9·11 이전에도 정보기관은 이미 데이터를 가지고 있었다.
신호는 존재했고, 파편은 보이고 있었다.
실패는 정보의 부족이 아니었다.
통합의 부재였다.

→ 데이터는 있었다. 그러나 구조가 없었다.

1920~30년대 소비에트는
복잡한 국가 통계를 그림으로 바꾸었다.
구조는 숫자를 이해로 바꾸었다.

2. 다이어그램으로서의 소프트웨어

팔란티어는 데이터를 더 수집하지 않았다.
이미 존재하는 것들을 연결했다.
노드. 링크. 관계.
파편을 하나의 장면으로 묶는 시스템.

→ 소프트웨어는 하나의 다이어그램이 되었다.

시스템은 데이터를 쌓기 전, 목표와 관계를 먼저 설계한다.
기계는 그 구조 위에서만 유의미하게 작동한다.

3. 기계 안의 철학

Alex Karp는 철학을 전공했다.
Peter Thiel 역시 철학을 공부했다.

그들은 말한다

“우리에겐 엔지니어보다 철학자가 더 필요하다.”

통합은 기술의 문제가 아니라
관점을 설계하는 문제다.

→ 코드는 사고를 따른다.

구조는 파편화된 생산과 판매를 하나의 질서로 동기화한다.
구조가 생기면 혼란은 시스템이 된다.

4. 예술에서 산업으로

소비에트 디자이너들은 시각을 재구성했다.
알프레드 바(Alfred H. Barr Jr.)는
현대미술을 구조화했다.
