나는

4토피아

파랑새를 좇아 산 넘고 물 건너

지친 발걸음 멈춘 자리.

내가 찾던 유토피아

저 먼 곳에 있지 않았네.

이 몸 안에 네 개의 낙원,

깨어나면 4토피아로 펼쳐진다.

성뇌(性腦)가 깨어나니

환희의 성토피아!

찰나의 엑스터시가

삶의 모든 순간으로 번져나가

하나로 춤추는 교감의 황홀경.

복뇌(腹腦)가 숨 쉬니

가벼운 몸토피아!

배는 편안하고

머리는 맑은 호수

구름 위를 걷는 듯,

일상을 사는 영성체.

심뇌(心腦)가 열리니

경이로운 맘토피아!

모든 것이 아름답고

모든 순간이 경이로워

아침 이슬에도 별이 반짝이고

낙엽 지는 소리에도

경외심이 일어나네.

두뇌(頭腦)가 밝아지니

평온한 얼토피아!

모든 것이 하나로 보이는

무분별의 평온,

둘이 아닌 그 자리

합일의 지혜가

거울처럼 맑게 빛나네.

네 가지 빛이 조화롭게 춤출 때

삶의 기술은 예술이 되고,

예술은 마침내 도술(道術)이 된다.

도시 속의 신선,

일상 속의 도인,

저 멀리 따로 없도다.

유교의 성인,

불교의 부처,

도교의 진인,

기독교의 신인,

먼 하늘의 이야기가 아니었네.

모든 길은

내 안의 낙원으로

내 안에서 이루어질 현실.

지금 누릴 내면의 왕국,

나는

살아있는 4토피아!

Who Am I? (76)

I am

4-Topia.

Chasing the blue bird over mountains and across rivers,

Stopping my weary steps right where I stand.

The Utopia I had been searching for

Was never in that distant land.

Four paradises within this very body—

They unfold as 4-Topia upon awakening.

When the Sex Brain awakens,

Sex-Topia of rapture!

Momentary ecstasy

Spreads into every breath of life,

An intoxication of communion, dancing as one.

When the Gut Brain breathes,

Gut-Topia of lightness!

The gut is at peace,

The head is a clear lake.

As if walking upon the clouds,

A spiritual being living the mundane.

When the Heart Brain opens,

Heart-Topia of wonder!

Everything is beautiful,

Every moment is a marvel.

Stars twinkle even in the morning dew,

And a profound awe arises

Even in the sound of falling leaves.

When the Head Brain brightens,

Head-Topia of serenity!

The peace of non-discrimination

Where all is seen as one.

In that place where "two" do not exist,

The wisdom of oneness

Shines as clear as a mirror.

When these four lights dance in harmony,

The skill of living becomes art,

And art finally becomes Divine Mastery.

A celestial immortal in the city,

A sage in the midst of daily life—

They are not found in some far-off place.

The Sage of Confucianism,

The Buddha of Buddhism,

The Real Man of Taoism,

The God-Man of Christianity—

They were never stories of a distant sky.

All paths lead

To the paradise within,

A reality to be fulfilled inside of me.

An inner kingdom to enjoy right now,

I am

The living 4-Topia!
