아이디어와 예술은 다르다
IDEA VS ART
아이디어와 예술은 다르다.
아이디어는 ‘무엇을 할까’의 대답이고,
예술은 ‘왜 나는 이걸 하고 있는가’의 대답이다.
우리는 여기저기 기웃거린다.
무엇을 할까 기웃거리면
눈에 띄는 것들이 보인다.
다른 작가의 작품도, 과정도
아이디어가 되곤 한다.
우리는 모두 서로에게
새로운 아이디어가 되거나
영감을 받는다.
하지만 ‘왜’를 훔쳐올 순 없다.
그 깊이는 눈에 띄는 것 그 이상에 있다.
아이디어는 들어가는 입구일 뿐이다.
길이 되거나 시작점을 품어야만 한다.
빈말이나 피상적인 아이디어는
길 없는 문과 같다.
우리 모두 문에 갇히지 말고,
새로운 길을 만들어 가길 바란다.

Art x Shift
Ideas and art are different.
An idea answers “What should I do?”
Art answers “Why am I doing this?”
We wander here and there.
When we wander asking what to do,
things catch our eye.
Other artists’ works,
their processes—
they become ideas.
We all become
new ideas for each other
or find inspiration.
But we cannot steal the “why.”
That depth lies beyond what meets the eye.
An idea is merely a doorway.
It must become a path or hold a beginning.
Empty words or shallow ideas
are like doors without roads.
May we all escape the trap of doors
and forge our own paths forward.

저희는 미술작가 부부로서, 예술을 만나는 방식에
변화를 시도하고자 아트쉬프트를 만들었습니다.
아트쉬프트는 예술이 단순한 결과물에 그치지 않고,
예술과 삶, 작가와 관객이 함께 어우러지는 공간입니다. 작업실, 전시공간, 카페, 굿즈샵이 결합된 이곳은 예술가의 창작 과정과 그 안에 담긴 고민, 서사를
자연스럽게 나누며, 예술이 일상 속에 스며드는
문화를 만들어가고자 합니다.
We created Art x Shift with the intention of transforming the way we as a visual artist couple engage with art. Art x Shift is a space where art goes beyond being a mere outcome, becoming a place where art, life, and the connection between artists and audiences coexist. With a combination of a studio, exhibition space, café, and a shop, this space naturally shares the process of creation, the challenges, and narratives within, while fostering a culture where art seamlessly integrates into everyday life.
