창작의 목적은?
이 두 질문은 다르다.
창작의 목적이 작가를 움직이는 듯하지만,
작가는 먼저 ‘왜’를 찾으려 움직인다.
이것이 작업의 시작,
창작의 근본이다.
목적이 생기기 전,
‘왜’에 갇혀 발버둥 치는 과정에서
예술이 시작된다.
정체성을 찾아가고,
내면을 물질로 표현하며 발견한다.
‘왜’에서 목적이 태어나고,
‘왜’는 목적으로 건너갈 다리를 놓는다.
그 다리 위로 감정은 건너가고,
의미는 건너온다.
방향만 있으면
어디에도 못 가고,
목적만 있으면
누구에게도 닿지 못한다.

Why create?
What is the purpose of creation?
These two questions are different.
The purpose seems to drive the artist,
but the artist moves first to understand why.
This is the start of the work,
the root of creation.
Before purpose emerges,
the artist struggles inside the question “why.”
This is where art begins.
Discovering identity,
expressing the inner self in form,
and finding meaning.
From “why,” purpose is born,
and “why” builds a bridge to purpose.
Across the bridge, emotions cross,
and meaning returns.
Direction alone
leads nowhere,
and purpose alone
reaches no one.

저희는 미술작가 부부로서, 예술을 만나는 방식에
변화를 시도하고자 아트쉬프트를 만들었습니다.
아트쉬프트는 예술이 단순한 결과물에 그치지 않고,
예술과 삶, 작가와 관객이 함께 어우러지는 공간입니다. 작업실, 전시공간, 카페, 굿즈샵이 결합된 이곳은 예술가의 창작 과정과 그 안에 담긴 고민, 서사를
자연스럽게 나누며, 예술이 일상 속에 스며드는
문화를 만들어가고자 합니다.
We created Art x Shift with the intention of transforming the way we as a visual artist couple engage with art. Art x Shift is a space where art goes beyond being a mere outcome, becoming a place where art, life, and the connection between artists and audiences coexist. With a combination of a studio, exhibition space, café, and a shop, this space naturally shares the process of creation, the challenges, and narratives within, while fostering a culture where art seamlessly integrates into everyday life.
