잭은 을지로를 처음 봤을 때,
“살아있다”는 말을 꺼냈다.
바쁘게 오가는 오토바이 삼발이,
그 사이를 가로지르는 사람들.
속도와 소음, 그 안에 숨어 있는 리듬.
조형작가인 우리에겐
을지로는 단순한 동네가 아니었다.
재료의 천국이었다.
무수한 가능성이
거리마다 쌓여 있었다.
을지로 3가와 4가 사이,
50개가 넘는 예술가들의 작업실이 숨 쉰다.
을지로는 지금, 서울에서 가장 뜨거운
창작의 심장이다.
우리는 이 속에,
함께 있고 싶었다.

Why Euljiro?
When Zach first saw Euljiro,
he said, “It’s alive.”
The buzzing scooters weaving through narrow alleys,
the people moving between them.
The speed, the noise—
and the rhythm hidden inside it all.
To us, as sculptor,
Euljiro wasn’t just another neighborhood.
It was a paradise of materials.
endless possibilities stacked along the streets.
Between Euljiro 3rd and 4th,
more than 50 artists' studios breathe.
Right now, Euljiro is the hottest
creative heart of Seoul.
And we wanted
to be part of it.

저희는 미술작가 부부로서, 예술을 만나는 방식에
변화를 시도하고자 아트쉬프트를 만들었습니다. 아트쉬프트는 예술이 단순한 결과물에 그치지 않고, 예술과 삶, 작가와 관객이 함께 어우러지는 공간입니다. 작업실, 전시공간, 카페, 굿즈샵이 결합된 이곳은 예술가의 창작 과정과 그 안에 담긴 고민, 서사를 자연스럽게 나누며, 예술이 일상 속에 스며드는 문화를 만들어가고자 합니다.
We created Art x Shift with the intention of transforming the way we as a visual artist couple engage with art. Art x Shift is a space where art goes beyond being a mere outcome, becoming a place where art, life, and the connection between artists and audiences coexist. With a combination of a studio, exhibition space, café, and a shop, this space naturally shares the process of creation, the challenges, and narratives within, while fostering a culture where art seamlessly integrates into everyday life.
