Tochal Telecabin (Gondola Lift)


One of the longest gondola cable cars in the world:

• Length: ~7.5 kilometers

• Stations: 7 in total

• Starting Altitude: ~1,900 m

• Top Station (Station 7): Near the Tochal summit (~3,740 m)

• Purpose: Skiers, climbers, tourists, and leisure visitors




Ski Resort


• Located between Stations 5 and 7

• Season: Typically November to March

Offers ski slopes, rental equipment, and a hotel

• Great for intermediate skiers due to moderate slope gradients




Popular Hiking Routes

• Darband Valley Shirpala Shelter Tochal Summit

• Very popular and scenic

• Can take 7–12 hours depending on weather and pace

• Station 1 Station 5/7 via trails

• Cable car is optional for descents or ascents

• Symbol of Tehran: The peak and range dominate the northern skyline.

• Training ground for mountaineers preparing for Damavand, Iran’s highest peak.
