영어 스피치, 영어 발표 - 인생의 불확실성
제가 2017년에 영어 스피치 대회에 나가서 약 300여명 앞에서 스피치 한 것을 포스팅 해 보았어요. 내용은 '인생의 불확실성' 에 대한 것이고, 제목은 Welcome Uncertainty 입니다. ^^

스피치 스크립트
We spend our whole lives worrying about the future, planning for the future, trying to predict the future, as if figuring it out will cushion the blow. But the future is always changing. The future is the home of our deepest fears and wildest hopes. But one thing is certain when it finally reveals itself. The future is never the way we imagined it.
This is the quote from the Masterpiece, The American drama, Grey’s anatomy.
Like this saying I was always uncomfortable about the uncertainty of my life. I hoped someone would tell me about my future and tell me what I have to do. And I would just follow the fixed path. That will be easy and clear for me.
Are you like me? Do you want to predict your future as well? Yes?
That is why I go to this person ever year. A fortune teller
I usually ask 3 things.
First, When can I change my current job?
Second, When can I earn some big money?
Third, Most importantly When can I get married? With who? Is he handsome Is tall how old is he?
A year and a half ago, I decided to move to a startup, a venture company. Many friends advised me
“Anna are you sure? You are working at a well known international company right now. Why are you throwing that away?”
Yes, I understood what they meant. There were no certain promises. But I wanted to explore more opportunities of my work and achieve more.
But on other hand I was worried too. “If I go there I should do a lot of work, can I do it well? Can I maintain a high performance there? If not, What should I do? Can I transfer to another well known company again?”. What is my next step?
Yes I went to the fortune teller. Actually.... 4 fortune tellers.
And their answers were mostly like this “Let’s see Let’s see No you can’t change your job this year. Even if you do, your situation will get worse and worse.”
And I responded “ then what about my boy friend?”
“Let’s see I don’t see a boy friend spotr”
What! Those were not the answers that I wanted. They are incorrect. So I went to another place and another fortune teller until I hear what I wanted to hear. So one of my friends said “Anna I will tell you what you want to hear so give me the money, not them”
Regardless of what the fortune teller said I moved to a startup company in 2015. Yes I worked a lot as I expected. I cold called to many journalists. “Hello, This is new startup and I want to intro….. Hello hello?” they hung up on me many times. Adapting a new company culture was difficult such as forming new relationship with people, especially for a pretty girl like me
Establishing a frame of my work from the basic takes a lot of times and efforts. I was frustrated . It felt like the fortune teller was right but I didn’t have any other choice. Because I couldn’t move to another company that soon. so I just kept trying my best.
After months and months of efforts, I introduced the company and the product on more than 500 articles all over the world including CNN and NHK. And I was awarded as the best employees in the company last year.
As for my boyfriend, I had a lot of blind dates but most of them were unsuccessful. But again, I kept trying my best and one day I met someone in Toastmasters. Are you Curious who he is? He is right there! Angeles Oh and we are getting married next month.
I told you from the beginning, the future is never the way you imagined it, your husband is never the way you imagined it.
Through those experiences I realized that the reason I was afraid, and the reason I hesitated was my lack of self-belief. Lack of self-belief led me to be afraid of uncertainty. But that is why we can shape your life the way we want because uncertainty means nothing is defined or fixed in our future.
So do I not go to the fortune teller anymore? Nope I still go. Not because I believe they really see the future but because if they gave me negative answer I just think to myself that I have to try harder. And if they give me a positive answer and I think to myself I knew it. I am on the right path.
Dealing with uncertain future is believing in yourself first
And explore and experience opportunities in life as much as possible
And it is okay to make a mistake and fail during those journies.
Because we will learn certain lessons from those mistakes and failures and keep moving forward.
You can make anything out of uncertainty.
So please talk to yourself, I Welcome uncertainty. Let’s try together I welcome uncertainty. .
