하나님이 모세에게, 12명의 사람을 보내 약속의 땅을 정찰하라고 하셨습니다.
첩자들이 돌아와 말하길, "그 땅에 사는 사람들은 굉장히 강하고 몸집이 커서, 우리가 그들 옆에 선다면 한낱 메뚜기처럼 보일 거예요. 우리는 그 땅을 차지할 수 없습니다."
그러나 갈렙과 여호수아는 "그 땅은 아름답습니다. 우린 그 땅을 가질 수 있어요. 하나님이 우리를 도우실 것입니다."라고 말했어요.
이스라엘 사람들은 갈렙과 여호수아의 말을 믿으려 하지 않았어요.
그들은 하나님이 그 땅을 주실 거라 믿지 않았습니다.
하나님을 믿고 의지하지 않았으므로, 그들은 오랜 세월을 광야에서 살아야 했습니다.
하나님은 그의 백성들이 그를 믿고 의지하기 원합니다.
God told Moses to send 12 men to see the Promised Land.
When they came back, they said, "The people who live there are very powerful.
They were so big that we would have looked as small as tiny grasshoppers if we had stood next to them. We cannot take the land from them."
But Caleb and Joshua said, "The land is beautiful. We can take the land. God will help us."
The Israelite people would not believe Joshua and Caleb.
The people would not trust God to give them the land.
Because God's people did not trust and believe God, they had to live in the desert for a long time.
God wants His people to believe and trust Him.
