I wanna tell you about 'Halloween Day' which is one of the typical US festivals. On October 31st every year, a lot of peope dressed up as monsters and ghosts and apeared from all over the US. The origins of the Day dates back to the ancient Celttic festival. It works to give comfort to the dead, and it also works for an exorcism. It has been held since around the 1930s. In Korea, the culture of celebration of the Day has been established mainly in Itaewon where many foreigners have stayed. However, The celebration has been criticised by some people because it is for commercial purposes and the Day is just part of the foreign culture. In conclusion, it is mainly for commercial purposes, but various people can join the Day as part of efforts to get out of 'normal' which is a positive aspect of the Day.
