The Disadvantages of Chat GPT
21th century people are almost inevitable to digital devices. One of the most famous thing is Chat GPT. Chat GPT has many capabilities. However, there are disadvantages in this device. Especially, in schools. There are many problems. Schools shouldn’t allow the use of Chat GPT because it could cause student’s cheating and decrease the process of homework, and contain errors.
First of all, schools must not allow the use of Chat GPT because it contains many errors. If Chat GPT says a wrong answer, people can misunderstand its wrong things. Chat GPT’s misinformation can make students get low grades. Also, if the data is incorrect, people can learn wrong knowledge. According to A+PREP daily, “Chat GPT may lack information on more recent events, and provide incorrect or incomplete responses.” If this continues, Chat GPT will get people’s dissatisfaction.
Moreover, the another reason why school’s should not allow the use of Chat GPT is because of student’s cheating and it decreases the process of homework. Students can entrust all their homework to the device and get answers. If their cheating continues, students will get lower grades and have no development in their curriculum. AP times states. “A 2023 study by the National Center for Educational Statistics found that39% of high school students admitted to using AI tools like Chat GPT inappropriately to complete assignments.” Also, if students cheat, the power of effort and critical thinking decreases. It means that most of the process of homework is decreasing. Nonetheless, some people say that it is effective in learning. But, if students overuse it, they might make it all do the homework. This problem leads to students being scolded to teachers when they figure out that students used Chat GPT.
In conclusion, schools should not allow using Chat GPT because of its error and student’s cheating and decrease of the process of their homework. To sum up, it can make people misunderstand by saying wrong things. Also, if students overuse it, they can give all of their homework and only get answers. By these problems schools should prevent the use of Chat GPT.
