In the 21th century, technology services is developing. One of the most reinforced service is drone delivery. If customers buy what they want, factories send drones to deliver purchased items to customers. However, there is an argument that drone delivery is only risky or it is beneficial. The benefits of drone delivery services do not outweigh the risks because of privacy concerns and safety problems.
To begin with, the benefits of drone delivery services do not outweigh the risks because of privacy concerns. While drones are delivering, they can go over houses and people who live in these houses can be irritated. Drone cameras can capture private areas and make people ashamed or embarrassed and being irritated. According to AP TIMES, “A 2022 pew research survey found that 54% of Americans were uncomfortable with drones flying over residential areas, citing fears of surveillance and data security. This leads to resident’s privacy concerns and complain to factories that use drone delivery services about it and feel anxious about drone flying over residential areas.
Most importantly, the benefits of drone delivery services do not outweigh the risks because of safety problems. There are two kinds of safety problems. By control problems, the drone’s battery could be broken or it is uncontrolled, it could crash into places without clearly distinguishing them. If they crash on buildings, it will make wrecks and if it crashes into humans, they will get hurt. Or worse, die. A+PREP daily states, “In 2022, an alphabet-owned wing drone crashed into power lines in Brisbane, Australia, causing a temporary power outage in the area”. But, some people say that drones are smart enough to avoid buildings. However, drones could have malfunction and crash into it. If this continues, drone delivery services will be famous because of malfunction and disadvantges. Also, people can get hurt and the public will have loss because of drones.
In conclusion, the benefits of drone delivery services do not outweigh the risks because of privacy and safety concerns. To sum up, drones can fly over residential areas and make people think as surveillance and could crash into buildings. Also, there are other problems with drone delivery services, for example, by drones, people will lose there jobs. There should be no malfunction with drones and live happily with drone delivery services and no concern about it. For reinforcement, drone making should be more cared.
