A Hope about A World Full Of Organ Donation
Imagine that your friend is in immediate need of liver. He will die in 5 days if there is not. However, hope arrives. A man named Jack has ordinary liver, but he has brain death. His parents decide to give liver to your friend. Hopefully, your friend lives again. These days, organ donation became a common happening to the society but still there is a controversy about organ donation is mandatory, or it is not. Organ donation should be mandatory upon death because it can save patient’s lives and help establish a new social norm.
To begin with, organ donation should be mandatory upon death because it can save patient’s lives. Because of a tragic accident, many people could lose their organs and wait for a donation. If someone who also had a tragic accident and have a normal organ, they could volunteer and save other’s life. Organ donation is a significant system that saves people’s lives. These days, the numbers of patients who need organ donation are increasing. So, if more people participate in organ transplant, can potentially save more lives. According to AP OPINION, “when people are automatically considered donors, the pool of potential donors expand significantly. This means fewer people waiting on the transplant lists and more lives saved”. If this continues, patients who got organ transplant could recover their body, and live a better life.
In addition, organ transplant should be mandatory upon death because it helps establish a new social norm. In some countries, organ donation is a regular behavior and a liberal act. Many people will engage in organ transplant in the future and if it takes place of a social norm, related laws will be reformed and newly made. Then, the public will actively register their organ donation. AP OPINIION states, “This change in attitude leads to more open conversations about organ donation within families and communities, making it easier for families to say “yes” when asked about donation after a loved one’s death. It transforms donation form an exceptional act into an expected one”. However, some people say that organ transplant will effect negatively in other religions. while some people worry that mandatory donation may conflict with religious beliefs, policies can include respectful opt-out options to honor personal convictions. This leads to a new world which it is mandatory of organ donation cause it saves people and the law will change and reform which is related to organ donation.
In conclusion, organ donation should be mandatory upon death because it saves patient’s lives, and helps establishing a new social norm. In summary, if people participate more in organ donation, so more and more people will live again after the transplant. Also, organ donation will be a regular behavior and a generous act and laws that are related to organ transplant will be reformed. These days, many people are dying because of no organs. People should have responsibility to engage with organ transplant and it is increasing. Few years later, people hope it will be easy to save other’s lives.
