Mosquitoes: an Insect that Gives Benefits and Risks

These days, the world is suffering from an insect: mosquito. Mosquitoes are known for its noxious attribute. They feed on human or other animal’s blood and inject chemical that leaves itchy mark to the skin. The majority tend to think of only the benefits of eliminating them. They only think about the positive sides. However, there could be negative sides too. If the mosquitoes are all killed in the world, there will be a change of ecological balance and ends the infection of diseases.

In the first place, if the mosquitoes are all killed in the world, there will be a change in ecological balance. Mosquitoes play a big role in the entire ecosystem. They are an important connection in the food chain. They are eaten by and eat animals. Thanks to them, the ecosystem gets balanced. However, if they get extinct, the species that eat them will be decreased suddenly. According to Google, they are an important food source for many animals and serve as pollinators for plants. Mosquito larva now couldn’t clean the water quality if they are extinct. If mosquitoes are all killed, many people think that it will give positive effects, but it also gives harmful effects to us, and the ecosystem and the environment that is balanced by mosquitoes.

Therefore, if the mosquitoes are all killed in the world, the infection of diseases will be stopped. Mosquitoes deliver diseases to people. They inject and spread pathogens that are fatal to human such as Malaria, or Dangi fever. Also, these viruses could cause leading to death. According to POV A+PREP, over 200,000 years, 108 billion people died bitten by mosquitoes. So, to avoid bites, Professor Timothy urges to clean feet and avoid going outside during peak mosquito hours with bug spray. But, if they are extinct, few creatures will be harmed by diseases. However, some people say that other insects can deliver diseases even though mosquitoes are extinct. But, they only have small amounts of viruses so there are not many risks. If mosquitoes are all killed, they can give more benefits to humanity.

In conclusion, if all the mosquitoes in the world are all killed, the infection of diseases will end and there will be a negative change with a balance in the ecosystem where they live. Mosquitoes are pollinators for plants and caterpillars clean the water. However, they deliver serious diseases that could make people die like Malaria. Mosquitoes are only known for pests. However, they contribute to stabilizing for the environment but also kills people.
