Musiq Soulchild - Forthenight
안녕하세요. 요 며칠 계속해서 내리던 비가 오늘에야 그쳤네요. 비 오는 날 집에만 있을 수 있다면 감성에 젖어들 수 있어서 참 좋겠지만, 평일에 비가 오는 것 만큼 귀찮고 번거로운 날도 없는 것 같습니다. 대중교통이나 도로 위나 또 사람들은 왜 이렇게 트롤링을 하는건지... 다시금 겨울 날씨가 되었지만 비가 오지 않아서 상쾌함을 느꼈던 하루였습니다.
어제에 이어서 오늘도 고음 없이 리듬과 멜로디를 전하는 노래를 소개하려 합니다. 오늘 소개할 가수는 미국의 네오소울, 알엔비 가수 뮤직 소울차일드 입니다. 뮤지끄 소울차일드 혹은 뮤지끄 솔차일드 등 우리나라에서 다양한 이름으로 불리지만, 뮤직 소울차일드 라고 발음하더군요. 굳이 높은 음을 내지 않아도 그의 리듬과 멜로디, 그리고 감미로운 음색이라면 정말 재밌는 노래가 완성됩니다. 어제 소개한 Joe 와 그런 점에선 참 많이 닮았다고 생각하는데요.
재밌는 점을 소개하자면 뮤직 소울차일드는 라이브 공연 때 마다 본인 노래의 멜로디를 바꿔서 부른다는 점입니다. 이 덕분에 원곡에 그나마 충실한 라이브 영상 찾기가 참 힘들었네요. 이 외에도 뮤직 소울차일드는 2집 부터 모든 노래의 제목을 붙여서 쓴다는 점도 재밌는 것 같습니다.
제가 특히 좋아하는 앨범은 그의 3집 Soulstar 앨범인데요. 그 앨범의 대표곡을 소개하려 합니다.
