I used to be a member of the public relations team of a big company. I made a group newsletter, but because I was from a university broadcasting station, I was put into a project to make an in-company broadcast. So even now, I can write quickly. At that time, our company paid expensive money to the famous author for his manuscript. It was my role to create a 10-minute program by decorating the manuscript around so that the manuscript was better understood by employees. Before and after the famous manuscript, I had to quickly post daily comments. It required the skill to write a lot very quickly. I had to read those manuscripts quickly and put proper words at the top and the end of that famous expensive manuscript. That training seems to be the foundation of my writing now. Therefore, any hardship in my youth seems to be a virtue, not really a hardship.

the: 특별한 명사에

a/an: 특별하지 않은 명사에

modify: 바꾸다. 수식하다.

We call the the definite article and a/an the indefinite article. the = definite article a/an = indefinite article For example, if I say, "Let's read the book, " I mean a specific book. If I say, "Let's read a book, " I mean any book rather than a specific book.

the는 정관사 a는 부정관사.

Let's read the book. 은 바로 그 책을 읽자.

Let's read a book. 은 그 어떤 책이라도 좋으니 그냥 책을 읽자.

Here's another way to explain it: The is used to refer to a specific or particular member of a group. For example, "I just saw the most popular movie of the year." There are many movies, but only one particular movie is the most popular.

금년 최고의 영화를 봤다. 많은 영화들 중 가장 인기 있는 영화니까 그건 특별하고 딱 한 개니까 the를 쓴다.

Therefore, we use the. "A/an" is used to refer to a non-specific or non-particular member of the group. For example, "I would like to go see a movie." Here, we're not talking about a specific movie. We're talking about any movie. There are many movies, and I want to see any movie. I don't have a specific one in mind.

그냥 그 어떤 영화가 되었건 영화를 보자. 할 땐 특별히 지정한 딱 한 개의 영화가 아니니까 a/an 부정관사를 쓴다. 오케이.
