The purpose of this dissertation is to explore the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to promote and globalize Taekwondo education. As a significant martial art with roots in Korean culture, Taekwondo has rapidly grown in popularity worldwide. However, despite this expansion, there are still numerous challenges related to consistency, accessibility, and educational quality across different regions. AI technology presents an opportunity to address these challenges by providing personalized learning, remote training, and standardized assessments.
이 논문의 목적은 태권도 교육을 홍보하고 세계화하기 위해 인공지능(AI)을 활용하는 방법을 탐구하는 것입니다. 한국 문화에 뿌리를 둔 중요한 무술인 태권도는 전 세계적으로 인기가 빠르게 상승했습니다. 그러나 이러한 확장에도 불구하고 여러 지역에서 일관성, 접근성 및 교육 품질과 관련된 수많은 과제가 여전히 존재합니다. AI 기술은 개인화된 학습, 원격 훈련, 표준화된 평가를 제공함으로써 이러한 과제를 해결할 수 있는 기회를 제공합니다.
This study examines AI's potential in enhancing training methodologies, increasing accessibility for a global audience, and preserving the cultural elements of Taekwondo. Additionally, it highlights the significance of Taekwondo as a global educational model, emphasizing its broader impact on international cultural exchange and physical education. Specific AI technologies, such as PoseNet, OpenPose, and CoachAI, are discussed to provide a clearer understanding of the tools involved.

Through a mixed-methods approach, involving surveys of Taekwondo practitioners, interviews with AI experts, and analysis of AI-driven tools, the research aims to establish a framework for incorporating AI into Taekwondo education while maintaining its cultural integrity. The findings suggest that AI can significantly enhance the globalization of Taekwondo by offering innovative, technology-driven educational tools that complement traditional instruction, thereby ensuring both modernization and cultural preservation.

These inconsistencies present a challenge to establishing a unified standard for Taekwondo education.
무술이자 문화 유산의 한 형태인 태권도는 전 세계 수백만 명의 수련자가 있는 세계적으로 인정받는 스포츠로 성장했습니다. 널리 인기가 있음에도 불구하고 태권도 교육의 상태는 지역마다 상당히 다르며, 양질의 훈련과 자원에 대한 접근성에 차이가 있습니다. 이러한 불일치는 태권도 교육에 대한 통일된 표준을 수립하는 데 어려움을 줍니다.
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education is emerging as a significant opportunity to address these challenges. AI offers potential solutions for personalized learning, remote coaching, and standardized skill assessment, which can help bridge gaps in Taekwondo education worldwide. By providing tools like real-time feedback, motion analysis, and individualized training plans, AI can help ensure that practitioners, regardless of geographical location, have access to high-quality Taekwondo education.
