Sweating in Vancouver

memorable day as runner-life

Around the starting line SUNRUN Marathon

I arrived in Canada on April 15th. Later that month, I pariticipated in the Vancouver sunrun marathon. I really had been looking forward to running in Vancouver - My very first international marathon. If you’ve ever joined a race before, you’ll know that exciting and refreshing atmosphere at the starting area. I love that vibe - there’s an intense energy around the starting line that anyone nearby can feel. It comes from the runners, and I respect them so much.

When you visit on race day, you’ll see a wide variety of runners among the crowd - young friends, married couples, and even elderly grandparents. They looked so energetic and healthy. I couldn’t help but wonder : could I be like them when I grow older? I’ll try, though.

Positive energy is the reason why I continue to participate in races and keep running in my daily life. People who live healthy lifestyle give off a sparkling energy that can even reach those around them. Their energy always inspires me and motivates me to move. Even though I was a fairly active person before strated running, without a running routine, I would’ve just stayed lazy - only moving around in a gym.

Okay, I feel like I got a little sidetracked — so let me get back to what I really wanted to share today. The day of the SUNRUN Marathon left me deeply inspired and made a strong impression on me.

What stood out the most was the cultural difference.

But what exactly do I mean by that?
