클레이튼은 크러스트(Krust)로 이관합니다.
2022년 새해를 맞아 오늘 중요한 소식을 하나 전하려고 합니다. 그라운드X가 시작하고 주도해 온 클레이튼을 크러스트(Krust)로 완전히 이관하기로 했습니다. 앞으로 크러스트가 클레이튼 개발과 사업 모두 책임지며 진정한 글로벌 블록체인 플랫폼이 되도록 만들 것입니다. 크러스트는 블록체인과 같은 혁신적인 기술 기반으로 글로벌 서비스를 만들고 투자하는 회사로 싱가폴에 본사를 두고 있습니다. 이미 지난 7월부터 클레이튼 관련해서는 크러스트에서 담당하고 있습니다.
크러스트 내에서 클레이튼은 CIC(Company In Company) 형태로 독립적인 조직으로 운영됩니다. 클레이튼 CIC는 클레이튼 개발과 사업, 생태계 확장 등 클레이튼 관련 모든 일을 담당합니다. 그라운드X 서상민(Sam) CTO가 크러스트로 넘어가 클레이튼 CIC를 이끌게 됩니다. 그라운드X의 클레이튼 관련 크루들도 모두 클레이튼 CIC로 넘어갑니다. 클레이튼 CIC는 추가 채용과 투자/인수 등을 통해 공격적으로 조직을 키울 것입니다.
2018년부터 클레이튼을 시작하고 발전시켜 온 저로서는 아쉬움이 크지만, 클레이튼의 성장을 위해선 독립적인 조직과 새로운 리더쉽이 필요하다고 생각합니다. 서상민 CTO는 클레이튼의 기획부터 개발, 이후 총괄까지 담당한 최고의 블록체인 전문가입니다. 그리고 누구보다 클레이튼에 대한 애정과 열정이 넘칩니다. 서상민 CTO는 클레이튼 CIC의 대표로서 글로벌 탑 플랫폼이 되도록 리딩하고, 궁극적으로 탈중앙화를 완성하여 재단으로 완전히 이관하는 것을 기대합니다.

NFT는 블록체인 시장에서도 가장 폭발적으로 성장하고 있는 영역이고 메타버스의 경제 기반을 구성하는 핵심적인 기술입니다. 그리고 그라운드X가 가진 NFT 경험과 역량은 이미 세계 최고 수준입니다. 국내를 넘어서 글로벌 시장에서 NFT를 리딩할 수 있는 회사가 될 것입니다, 이 과정에서 클레이튼을 최대한 활용하고, 클레이튼 생태계의 핵심적인 플레이어 역할을 할 것입니다.

I'd like to share an important news today. It has decided to completely transfer Klaytn, which Ground X has started and led, to Krust. Krust will be responsible for both Klaytn development and business and make it a true global blockchain platform. Krust is based in Singapore as a company that creates and invests in global services based on innovative technologies such as blockchain. Krust has been in charge of Klaytn since July 2021.
Within Krust, Klaytn operates as an independent organization in the form of a Company in Company (CIC). Klaytn CIC is in charge of everything related to Klaytn, including Klaytn development, business, and ecosystem expansion. Ground X Seo Sang-min (Sam) CTO will move on to Krust and lead Klaytn CIC. Ground X's Klaytn-related crews will also be transferred to Klaytn CIC. Klaytn CIC will aggressively grow its organization through additional hiring and investment/acquisition.
It is regrettable for me, who has started and developed Klaytn since 2018, but I decided that an independent organization and new leadership are needed for Klaytn’s growth. Seo Sang-min CTO is the best blockchain expert who performed Klaytn's planning, development, and business. And he has more affection and passion for Klaytn than anyone else. Seo Sang-min CTO, as the representative of Klaytn CIC, expects to lead to become a global top platform, ultimately complete decentralization and transfer it completely to Klaytn foundation.
From now on, Ground X will be all-in to NFT. NFT is the most explosive area in the blockchain market and is a key technology that forms the economic foundation of metaverse. Ground X's NFT experience and capabilities are already the best in the world. Ground X can lead NFT in the global market beyond Korea. In order to achieve it, we will leverage Klaytn fully and play a key role in the Klaytn ecosystem.
Taking this opportunity, I sincerely thank the Klaytn communities for their support. The community was the biggest help to me. Although I step down from the position of responsibility for Klaytn, I feel Klaytn is like my child. As a member of the Klaytn community, I will spare no encouragement and advice to ensure that the Klaytn ecosystem is in the right direction. Lastly, please ask the community.
