평온을 비는 기도 (Serenity Prayer)

평온하지 못한 나는, 매해 받는 회사 다이어리 앞에 이 기도문을 쓰고 시작한다. 올해에도 어김없이 내가 바꿀 수 없는 것은 과감히 놓아버리자. 

God, give us grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed, courage to change the things that should be changed, and the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other.  

신이시여, 우리에게 바꿀 수 없는 일을 받아들이는 평온을 주옵소서

바뀌어야 하는 것은 변화시키는 용기를, 

그리고 그 둘을 구별할 수 있는 지혜를 주옵소서
