당신을 여름날에 비할 수 있을까요?

당신이 더 사랑스럽고 따스한걸요:

거친 바람이 오월의 사랑스러운 꽃봉오릴 흔들어요,

여름이란 계절은 너무 짧군요;

때로 천국의 눈동자는 너무 뜨겁게 빛나고,

그 금빛 얼굴은 자주 어두워지지요;

때로 어여쁜 것들은 아름다움 속에 저물고,

우연이나 자연의 섭리로도 가꿔지질 않아요;

허나 당신의 영원한 여름날은 사라지지 않을 테니,

당신이 지닌 아름다움도 잃지 않을 테지요;

죽음도 당신이 자기 그늘 속을 배회한다며 뽐내진 못할 테니,

영원한 시간의 선율 속에서 당신은 살아갈 테지요:

우리가 숨 쉴 수 있거나 눈이 보이는 한,

당신의 생명은 영원합니다, 당신의 여름이 살아있는 한.

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?

Thou art more lovely and more temperate:

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,

And summer’s lease hath all too short a date;

Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,

And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;

And every fair from fair sometime declines,

By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm'd;

But thy eternal summer shall not fade,

Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st;

Nor shall death brag thou wander’st in his shade,

When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st:

So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,

So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
