미국 대학들은 자신의 학교에 대해 관심을 보이는 학생들을 뽑으려고 한다. 미국 대학들은 복수 지원을 허용하기 때문에 합격자들 가운데 등록하는 학생들이 예상보다 작다. 따라서 미국대학들은 얼리 디시전으로 절반의 학생을 선발하고, 더불어 학교에 여러 방법으로 관심을 보이는 학생들을 우선 선발하려고 한다.
학교에 대한 관심을 보이는 방법 가운데 하나가 '캠퍼스 방문'이다. 그런데 지난 1년 동안 코로나 19로 캠퍼스 직접 방문의 길이 막혔다가 최근 일부 대학들이 다시 캠퍼스 방문을 허락하고 있다.
대학을 방문하는 것은 학생들이 잠재적으로 가장 적합한 학교에 대한 종합적인 그림을 얻고 캠퍼스에서 그들 자신을 상상하기 시작할 수 있는 소중한 기회가 될 수 있다. 다음은 캠퍼스 방문을 허락한 대학들 가운데 일부다.

■ Amherst College
최상위권 명문 리버럴 아츠 칼리지인 앰허스트 칼리지는 캠퍼스 방문을 할 수 있도록 개방했다. 만일 캠퍼스를 방문하려면 사전 등록을 하고 코로나 방역 조치를 해야 한다. 매주 월요일부터 목요일까지 오전 오후 2차례 방문이 가능하다.

Join Us for an In-Person Visit!
There are two ways you may plan your in-person visit to campus:
Register for an official, scheduled visit. Each scheduled visit lasts approximately two hours and includes a campus tour (led by a student guide) and an information session (presented by an admission dean), a program that is designed to maximize the value of your visit with us. Advance registration is required. On-campus health and safety measures have been instituted for in-person visits. Please review our protocols for on-campus visitors for detailed instructions about health and safety measures, parking, and arrival.
Explore informally on your own. If you'll be visiting Amherst at a time when no official visits are scheduled, you are welcome to enjoy a walk through campus. Visitors are permitted on the exterior grounds of the campus only; all college buildings remain closed to visitors. Masks are required outdoors while on Amherst's campus grounds whenever individuals are unable to maintain a six-feet distance from others. Please review our protocols for on-campus visitors for more information about health and safety measures and some handy guides for your self-directed exploration of campus.
There have been hopeful signs of improvement in the pandemic and the College has begun to lift a number of the most stringent health and safety protocols that were in place over the past year. Nevertheless, we believe it is in the best interest of our community to maintain a number of those measures while our community’s vaccination efforts continue. Please review our protocols for on-campus visitors to ensure that you are familiar with the protocols that will be in place during your visit.

Join Us for a Virtual Tour or Virtual Campus Visit
Throughout the summer, we will offer virtual campus visits on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Each visit will consist of a 45-minute information session (led by an admission dean) followed by a 45-minute tour presentation (led by a student guide).

The Tuesday morning virtual visit may be especially convenient for international students joining us from multiple time zones, but all students are welcome to attend any of the sessions!
