NYU의 학부 3개 단과대학(예술과학대학, Leonard N. Stern 경영대학, Rory Meyers 간호대학)은 지원자의 5% 미만에게만 입학 허가를 내주었다. 2025년 가을에 입학하는 학급의 경우, NYU는 역사상 가장 많은 얼리 디시전 풀을 기록했으며, 25,000건 이상의 지원서를 접수했다. 이는 작년보다 조기 결정 지원자가 10% 증가한 수치다.

NYU has sent offers of admission to its future Class of 2029. Offers of admission to NYU’s New York campus were made to just 7.7% of the more than 120,000 students who applied to become members of next fall’s entering undergraduate class, making the Class of 2029 one of the most selective classes in NYU’s history.
Three of NYU’s undergraduate colleges—the College of Arts and Science, the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, and the Rory Meyers College of Nursing—offered admission to fewer than 5% of applicants. For the class entering in fall 2025, NYU set a new record for the largest early decision applicant pool in history, with more than 25,000 applications, a 10% increase in early decision applications from last year.
NYU anticipates that approximately 20% of the class will be Pell Grant recipients and 20% will be first-generation students. This year’s cohort hails from all 50 states, 128 countries, and approximately 1,000 students from New York City public schools.
Like the Class of 2028, the members of the Class of 2029 at NYU’s New York campus with financial need are eligible for The NYU Promise, an initiative first announced at President Linda G. Mills’ inauguration:
Families with incomes of less than $100,000 will not have to pay tuition
NYU will meet 100% of demonstrated need
Scholarships will be adjusted to meet tuition increases each year
