새해 복 많이 받으세요!
The year of the Red Horse2026년을 기념하며 새 일러스트를 제작하였습니다. 1월이 다 지난 후에야 포스트 하게 된 점, 깊은 양해를 부탁드립니다. 그래도 아직 구정 설이 오지 않았으니 늦지는 않았다고 스스로 위안 삼아 봅니다. ㅎㅎ
그림은 사람인 듯, 사람이 아닌 소녀가 말을 타고 힘차게 뛰어오르는 경주의 한 장면을 담고 있습니다. 이 작품에는 2019년에 제가 만들었던 캐릭터들이 다시 등장합니다.
소녀의 붉고 곱실거리는 머리와 부리는 불닭볶음면을 너무 많이 먹다 보니 저렇게 되어버린 설정입니다. “내가 먹는 것이 곧 나다”라는 말처럼요. ㅎㅎ
사실 저는 불닭볶음면을 1년에 한 번 먹을까 말까 하지만, K-푸드의 중심에서 불닭볶음면이 차지하는 인기와 소비를 반영해 만들어진 캐릭터라고 보면 좋을 것 같습니다.
그림 아래쪽에는 아이스크림, 요구르트, 스팸 무수비, 그리고 계란 폭탄 김밥 등 여러 간식 친구들이 등장하고, 오른쪽에는 올해로 18살이 된 저의 강아지 코코가 그의 애착 인형과 함께 흐뭇한 표정으로 이 장면을 바라보고 있습니다.
개인적으로 마음에 드는 연하장 이미지가 완성되어 꽤 만족스러운 작업이었습니다.

To celebrate the year 2026, I created a new illustration.
I apologize for posting this only after January has already passed.
Still, since Lunar New Year has yet to arrive, I like to tell myself that it’s not too late.�
The illustration captures a scene from a race — a girl who seems human, yet not quite, riding a horse and leaping forward with great energy. Characters I originally created back in 2019 make their return in this piece.
The girl’s red, curly hair and her beak are the result of eating far too much Buldak Bokkeum Myeon.
After all, you are what you eat.
In truth, I personally eat Buldak Bokkeum Myeon maybe once a year, if that — but this character reflects the popularity and consumption of Buldak as a central icon of today’s K-food culture.
At the bottom of the image, you’ll find various snack characters — ice cream, yogurt, Spam musubi, and an “egg-bomb” gimbap.
On the right side, my dog Coco, now 18 years old, is watching the scene with a content expression, accompanied by his favorite stuffed toy.
I’m personally very satisfied with how this New Year’s card illustration turned out.
