Bach-Gounod, Ave Maria for violin＆guitar

Ave Maria is a popular and much-recorded setting of the Latin prayer Ave Maria, originally published in 1853 as Méditation sur le Premier Prélude de Piano de S. Bach. The piece consists of a melody by the French Romantic composer Charles Gounod (1818~1893) that he superimposed over an only very slightly changed version of the Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, from Book I of J.S. Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier, published in 1722

*DuoA&U의 한국美산책: DMZ(2) 강화도 연미정과 아베마리아
아픈 역사를 간직한 연미정은 북한 황해도 개풍군 일대를 한눈에 조망할 수 있는 강화도의 아름다운 곳이며 정자를 중심으로 두 그루의 아름드리 느티나무가 오랜 세월 서로를 의지하며 서 있었다. 그 중 한 그루가 2019년 9월 태풍에 쓰러져 많은 이들을 안타깝게 하고 있다.
구노의 아베마리아는 슈베르트와 카치니의 아베마리아와 함께. '3대 아베마리아'로 불린다. 샤를 프랑수와 구노(1818~1893)가 바흐의 평균율 클라비어곡집의 전주곡 C장조를 바탕으로 해서 만들었으며, 경건한 신앙심과 깊은 사랑이 담긴 곡이다.
