Prior to Lunar New Year Dinner

February 7, 2019 (Thursday)

Visited Seoul Home last January and came back to Philly two days ago.   We used Delta Air which had a layover in Atlanta.  From Inchon to Atlanta, it took around 12 hours (it was quiet sooner than I thought!).  When we went to Seoul from Philly with Detroit, the flight hour from Detroit to Inchon was more than 14 hours.  We departed Inchon on 6:30 pm and arrived Atlanta around 6pm.  However, as Atlanta was the port-of-entry, we had to claim our luggages, go through customs in Atlanta airport and check in the luggages again (to our final destination, Philly).  Besides, we had to wait another two more hours for the connecting flight.  The flight from Atlanta to Philly departed on 8:45 pm and we could arrive Philly home at almost midnight.  Fortunately, our seats were next to a vacant seat on a plane and we could use the empty seat as well!  Harin could sleep across empty seats for long-haul flight.  When we arrived Philly home at midnight, I pushed her to sleep again, and I think she could have enough sound sleep even though we flied long-haul.

On next morning, both of us woke up early.   By that morning, both of us didn't feel jet lags.  H1 went to preschool and I went to the class in the morning.  After my class of Constitution finished on 11:45, I had a lunch with my friend during H1 was still at preschool.  I thought I already overocomed the jetlag but I felt drowsy seriously when I finished my half-size turkey sandwich and a cup of onion soup.  I came back home, lay in bed, and fall asleep quickly.  I planned to wake up at 4pm and attend Wharton Class which starts on 5:30 pm.  However, I turned off the alarm before I knew it,  and I failed to attend Wharton class which led me to the 4th absence.  As only 3rd absence was allowed in order to pass the class, I was really surprised when I received a call from Jennifer at 6:30 pm in my bed.  If it were not for Jennifer's call, I could not even pick up H1 from preschool.  I appreciated Jennifer for the call, and I could move to H1's preschool though I missed my Wharton class that day.  After pick up, we went to Whole Foods because my friedge was nerely empty.  With wet-noodle, fresh basil, anchovy, cherry tomatoes, zucchini, yellow pepper bell, onion and smoked Gauda cheese, I made pasta for both H1 and me.  I thought I should have added extra anchovy because it was not salty enough.  And the noodle was overcooked as I cooked wet-noodles as if those were dried-noodles.  However, the pasta that I dished up was pretty and it was a great refreshment after a long journey.

On the next day, H1 could not wake up in the morning and I decided to skip the morning class.  I didn't wake H1 and she woke up after 2:30 pm!  With such a deep sleep of exhaustion, H1 finally overcomed her jetlag after the 10-day-trip to Korea.  During H1's sleeping, I watched Korean TV shows (I live alone, Happy together and Radio star) and checked a pile of e-mails.  I replied to e-mails from Wharton professor, my mentor, Penn Law School Light Opera Company.  Also, I checked if the response from Mayer Brown arrived.  After H1's woke up, we'd been watching TV all day long in bed.  And it's time to go Lunar New Year dinner at law school.  It starts on 7:30 pm, and only 40 minutes left!
