Have you ever seen employees bow deeply to the president of a company? Have you ever seen subordinates bow 90 degrees to a boss? Why do they bow so deeply in greeting?
Do you often greet people with a deep bow, or are you often greeted by people? Having lived in society for a long time, I can guess the power relationship between the two people and whether the greeting is formal or heartfelt, just by looking at the way they greet each other.
What does it mean for a person to say hello humbly? A humble greeting is a bowing of the heart. Bowing your head formally and forcibly bowing your head does not mean being humble. Bowing your head in greeting without respect and gratitude is not humility, but rather a kind of struggle to live. When you bow your head and say hello with a sincere heart, that is humility.
Look at the history of the world. Do humble people live long or arrogant people live long? Regardless of the east and west, the humble person survived longer than the arrogant person, and the humble person succeeded more than the arrogant person. Knowing this reason, the masters of life maintained a humble attitude until their death.
Forcing one's head down to achieve one's own ends is a form of deception. The act of bowing out loud in order to survive and rise in the world without being sincere and respectful is not humility.
As I met a lot of people, I realized that people's true humility comes out when they are generally competent and confident. Humility is not blindly lowering oneself, but acknowledging the other person as they are. A person who is humble despite having power, a person who can be arrogant but is humble is a truly humble person.
An arrogant attitude is a shortcut for you to lose people, and a humble attitude is a shortcut for you to get people on your side. Humble words and actions move people's hearts and get people's helping hands. A humble attitude increases your worth, grows you, and sets you on the path to success.
If you want to be recognized, grow, and live a life worthwhile, you must be humble. Humility brings you up, arrogance brings you down. This is the principle that works between people, and the principle that everything in the world goes around.
If you want to keep yourself and grow, you must be humble.
