먹이를 구하러 나온 덕스트라우스는

호숫가에 둥둥 떠있는 알을 발견했어요.

"저거 우리 알인가?"

곧 태어날 아이들과 같은 모양의 알이었어요

"언제 이까지 굴러왔지?"

덕스트라우스는 알을 가지고 집으로 갔어요

"여보, 우리 알이 모두 몇 개였지?"

"음, 글쎄요."

"한번 세어볼까? 하나, 둘, 셋, 많다."

셋까지 밖에 셀 수 없는 덕스트라우스였습니다.

"이거 오리 알맞지? 이 주변에 오리는 우리 밖에 없으니 우리가 떨어뜨린 알인 것 같아."

"그러게요."

엄마 오리는 가져온 알을 소중히 품었어요.
